Safe, Effective Digital X-Rays for Center, TX Kids and Teens
At Children’s Dental Center, we strive to incorporate the safest, most effective treatment options for our patients using advanced dental techniques and technologies. The introduction of digital x-rays has transformed the way we diagnose and treat patients allowing us to clearly see developing teeth below the gum line, diagnose tooth decay in earlier stages, and create precisely tailored treatment plans for each unique case. Many parents are concerned about exposing their children to radiation from x-rays, but compared with traditional radiographs, digital x-rays expose patients to 40% less radiation making them safer for patients of any age. Contact our team if you have questions about x-rays or to schedule your child’s appointment.
How Often Should My Child Have X-Rays?
We recommend kids have basic x-rays taken at least once each year and full panoramic x-rays every three years. If children show signs of being at higher risk for decay, we may recommend x-rays during every six month checkup to allow us to keep the decay under control.
Do I Have Access to My Child’s X-Rays for Insurance?
Digital x-rays are immediately available on our chairside computer monitors. These high definition images allow us to diagnose decay and other concerns in earlier stages, and because we can manipulate the images and enhance specific areas, they are an excellent tool to help patients fully understand their treatment options. We are also able to share these files with patients, orthodontists, and others immediately via email.
